Torreys and Grays Peaks

Hiked Torreys (an elevation of 14,275 feet) and Grays Peaks (an elevation of 14,278 feet) despite the questionable weather.
Set out to ascend to Torreys peak via the Kelso Ridge so I could make a big loop instead of coming back down the same trail. Ran into two other hikers and began to get a little concerned when I noticed they were wearing climbing gear. Inquiring they assured me it was "just in case" (They had not ascended the ridge before). As we progressed the ridge narrowed and the incline was nearing vertical at some spots. Without the right gear I made the call to turn back, and headed back to the main accent trail. I took after Grays and was almost to the top of Torreys when I met up with the climbers which told me it had been a bit touch and go even using their climbing gear due the weather.
