Forest Service Road 376A, 379 and 379A

Running out of daylight, I took a spur off of 376A since 376A was completely iced over.  Temps seemed to drop close to 0 degrees at some points during the night.  The next morning, the sun was welcoming bringing the temperature up to a wonderful 34 degrees.  After some coffee and a breakfast burrito I set out to see if I could traverse 379 with only street tires.  379 is about 11 miles if you include 379A which takes you above treeline.  For being December the road was clear except for a little slippage when crossing a stream.

At the top of 379A, there was a gate; past that was a dam at Mt Baldy Reservoir and a shelter.  Wish I could have been able to keep going but they had it all blocked off.

Hard to see it here, but in the distance a wild fire started (called 911, they already had started working it).  You could see a vehicle long since abandoned that didn't respect gravity, hope no one was hurt.
