My Lady and I took off to Monument, CO and headed over the front range west to camp somewhere northwest of Woodland Park. The challenge was to touch as little pavement as possible and hit as many off-road trails as possible. The route ended up looking like this: 300 (Mt Herman), 300 (Rampart Range), 351 (Fern Creek), 347.C, 347, 348, 67 (highway), 343, 78 (County Rd), 3 (County Rd), 366, 364, 358, 357. Some of the route took us through a area recovering from a forest fire almost a decade ago. We finally got to test out our new OzTent and loved it! The campsite we ended up using was tucked up on the edge of the woods overlooking a field and pond with a wonderful view.
In truth, I will most likely keep future routes shorter so we are able to stretch our legs and explore areas a little more.
