EVP Shell Alternatives

Reevaluating the pro/cons of using Nida-Core panels, currently I am looking at three options:
  • Polypropylene honeycomb such as Nida-Core or Plascore
  • Aluminum honeycomb
  • H60 Divinycell foam with biaxial and triaxial fiberglass skins inside and out with Exterior hull skins in vinylester resin.  High load areas reinforced with Coosa board inserts.
Hull-to-deck joint fiberglassed on interior and exterior with three layers of 1708
    biaxial tapes.
Most of the blogs listed below are using a fiberglass honeycomb solution: The aluminum honeycomb option could streamline the build and simplify structural integrity concerns for the most part.  Conversely the sound, insulation, and monetary concerns would be magnified.

My dad just had his Catamaran built and they used a combination of  H60 Divinycell foam and utilized coosa panels for walls, steps, etc.  Working on researching the details for the fabrication process now...

Looks like Divincyell Matrix, which cores are temperature-resistant are used for the walls and roofs in some higher end caravans.
